Designed by George Nelson, the Diamond Desk Clock is defined by its geometric case and sculptural arrangement of wood and metal. The compact form combines the clock mechanism with a faceted walnut body, creating a distinctive desk object that reflects Nelson’s interest in treating functional objects as architectural forms.
This 2004 Vitra edition features a multi-color finish, with the walnut structure painted in black and grey and supported by white-painted brass legs. The contrasting finishes emphasize the geometric construction of the clock while giving the piece a distinctly graphic appearance.
Offered here is a 2004 example, new in its original box. The clock has never been used, although it has a small manufacturer\'s defect, which is visible in the accompanying photographs and is reflected in the condition description.
