For sale we have some nice and rare originalCivil War/Pre Civil War era Model 1839 and 1855 rifle sling hooks used by both the Union and Confederate armies. They are also the same hooks used on rifle slings from the early 1870s. These hooks were salvaged from slings that were found at Bannerman's Island many decades ago. There is still some leather attached to them, but it is dry and basically unusable. These sling hooks would be great to use to repair an original sling with a broken hook or to display as they are. I am selling these sling hooks "as is", so please be sure to ask any and all questions prior to purchasing. You rarely ever see original sling hooks offered for sale, so don't miss your chance to add one to your collection!
- The price is for ONE (1) sling hook
- They will show oxidation
- They may have broken rivets
- The leather will be hard, cracked and unusable
THE SLING SHOWN IN THE LAST TWO PICTURES IS FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING! I will not honor requests to "pick the best one available" or for a specific one pictured.
Shipping is $4. I ship to the US only. No exceptions. Again, these are being sold "AS IS", so please ask any and all questions prior to purchasing.
I recently bought a collection of Civil War through WWI leather items which FAR exceeded my needs, so I will be listing a lot of this kind of stuff over the coming weeks. Please check back often and check out my new listings for more great antique militaria!
