The Rare Hummel I'm Carefree #633 Figurine is a medium, traditional-style figurine painted in multicolor porcelain. This first edition piece, featuring a Rare Signature on the Back of the Wagon, was manufactured in 1994 by artist Helmut Fischer. The figurine, measuring 4 inches in length and 4 1/2 inches in height and 3 In. wide, is part of the late 20th-century collection from the Hummel brand.
This charming piece was made in Germany and features a carefree child in a wagon with a bird sitting on the edge of the wagon, is a unique addition to any collection of decorative collectibles. This is a TMK 7 with the First Issue sticker on the bottom, along with the incised # 633 and the first sculpted date of 1990, however it was not on the market until 1994.
What separates this piece from most of the rest of the "I'm Carefree" figurines is the "M. I. Hummel" signature is on the very back of the wagon rather than on the side of the wagon just under the bird. According to my Price Greenbook Guide, they started making these with the Signature on the back as you see on this piece, then changed to the side of the wagon under the bird.

My book is a couple of years old so the GB price may not be exact. I see a couple of these figurines sold on that had the back signature, but most people do not realize that there were less than 1000 produced with the back signature quite rare, that about doubled the value.
