Following the authorization of the Boulder Canyon Project Act in December 1928, early promotional souvenirs were produced referencing the project and damsite before and during the initial groundbreaking in 1931. This piece likely dates from that crucial pre-construction / early planning era. While generic bear paperweights of this mold are known, examples featuring this specific Boulder Canyon / Las Vegas casting are extraordinarily rare and unrecorded in standard online archives.
