Rare Antique 9ct Gold Federation-Era "Map of Australia" Patriotic Stick Pin (c. 1901–1910)
Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible piece of early 20th-century Australian history. This genuine 9-karat yellow gold stick pin features a beautifully rendered map of Australia commemorating the Federation era.
HISTORICAL GEOGRAPHY SIGNIFICANCE:This pin features the rare "Two-Line" state border design configuration manufactured strictly before 1911. The map intentionally lacks the state borders between Victoria (VIC) and New South Wales (NSW), and displays the Northern Territory (NT) as completely undivided from South Australia (SA), capturing the country's political boundaries exactly as they stood at the birth of the Commonwealth. All up weighs 2.465gms.
