Very rare pepper mill used in the 1940s & 50s at the famous 21 Club in NYC. Stamped twice, including on top with the famous Iron Gates. I’ve seen two varieties of these, one set had long wooden stems that the waiters would carry and these shorter metal versions that would sit on the tables when requested. While both are scarce, i’ve handled far more of the wooden examples in my years of collecting 21C memorabilia. It seems fewer of these smaller versions come up for sale. Marked Sterling and it is HEAVY.

Note- I have a grinder from the famous Stork Club in NYC listed separately, both from the estate of the same collector.
