Origin: Recovered from an Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Lodge Building, Idaho Falls, ID.

Up for sale is a rare, exceptionally well-preserved piece of American fraternal history. This antique reverse-painted glass and mirror sign features a classic, poignant introspection rhyme traditionally hung in lodge rooms to prompt personal accountability:
“If every member was just like me, what kind of lodge would my lodge be!”
Unlike standard printed signs of the era, this is a premium, artisan-crafted piece. The lettering features high-skill sign-painting techniques from the early 20th century, including a bold block font with multi-colored split-tones, deep drop shadows, and miniature cursive words integrated seamlessly into the layout. The vibrant blue, red, white, and silver tones pop beautifully against the rich black background.
The sign is housed in its stunning, original thick-molding ornate gesso-on-wood frame, giving it incredible crossover appeal as historical Americana, industrial folk art, or unique statement decor for a library, office, or mancave.
Condition:
Excellent antique condition considering its age. The glass is intact with no cracks. The reverse-painted lettering remains sharp and vibrant. The mirror silvering shows beautiful, authentic minor age-related foxing/patina that verifies its 100-year-old heritage. The historic Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) Building located at 393 N. Park Ave / 421 A Street in downtown Idaho Falls, Idaho. The local Idaho Falls lodge chapter was formed in 1892, and this premium, hand-painted sign hung inside their landmark 1909 building during the height of the area\'s early 20th-century boom.
