There were some very fabulous prints of Art Deco butterflies that were printed in the 1940's...Spectrum Fabrics created some of the most iconic of all patterns...and the butteflies were exceptionally collectible and POP STAR! So when this very fun and original commercial grade cotton mix was printed in the late 40's it was with a more moderne mid century classic...simple...minimalist approach that...as you can see...has created ART in and of ITSELF...whether framed stretched over canvas or each scene divided so perfectly in its own frame...each repeat showcasing a differenty reveal would be a fabulous way to honor this wonderfully FUN and collectible piece of textile art.
This offering is for ONE unused unwashed old stock 1940's remnant...it is a true minty green ground...but my camera is picking up more of a beige...a mint julep to be exact...a thick cotton with a commercial quality about it...many of these prints were made more for commercial spaces...car dealerships...offices...signed "HAND PRINT" on the selvedge...a simple use of colors keeps the focus on the design in the most perfect way...tangerine orange...true red...a honeydew lime...a turquoise green/cobalty blue leaves...aqua green...chocolate...cocoa...on a mint ground with black accents.Each remnant measures 23 inches wide x 48 inches long.
