SOCIAL MESSAGE by WESTERN UNION. Rare 1936 Pre-printed form featuring 10 different \"Stork Telegrams\" you can choose from to send to the new expectant parents. You simply selected a message, filled out the \"To\" and \"Address\" areas, as well as your Signature, name and address. Pay the fee, and the message was on its way.
At the top of the form in color are several small illustrations of a well-dressed man and woman. A message such as \"Congratulations to both of you and happiness and health on the new arrival\" can be selected.
I\'ve been dealing in paper of all types, artwork, ephemera, etc., and this is the only one of these that I have ever seen. When the message was received by the new parents, the same \"Social Message\" and illustrations appeared at the top of the typeset printed message that was sent by Western Union.
The Social Message is printed on a tan or light brown paper, with the back being blank. Paper measures 7\" x 8 3/8\". The paper is brittle and appears to have darkened with age.
I\'ll place the page inside a plastic sleeve and add a piece of white foam board for protection while mailing by USPS Ground Advantage in a bubble envelope. I\'ll mail the same day or next day after payment is received.
