This is an original vintage Soviet space collectible featuring the Molniya-1 satellite, one of the most important early achievements of the USSR's space and communications program.
The badge presents a striking stylized image of the satellite against a dark space background, with orbital lines, a prominent red star, and the Cyrillic inscription “Молния-1” (Molniya-1). Its bold Soviet-era design captures the visual language of the Space Age and makes it an especially interesting piece of historical memorabilia for collectors of Soviet space exploration, cosmonautics, satellites, and Cold War-era technology.
Molniya-1 was part of the pioneering Soviet communications-satellite program that began in the mid-1960s. These satellites were developed for long-distance radio, telephone, telegraph, and television communications, representing an important stage in the development of space-based communications.
This vintage original badge is an excellent addition to a collection of Soviet space memorabilia, USSR pins, cosmonautics collectibles, or historical Space Race artifacts. It also makes a distinctive display piece for anyone interested in the history of Soviet technology and the early Space Age.
The item is offered in vintage pre-owned condition with visible age-related wear, surface marks, patina, and signs of handling consistent with its age. Please carefully examine all photos, as the actual item shown in the photographs is the one you will receive.
A fascinating original piece of Soviet-era space history with strong visual character and authentic period appeal.
