IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMBINE SEVERAL PRODUCTS INTO ONE PARCEL
This is a complete set of seven original commemorative medals associated with the military history of the Soviet period, preserved together with their corresponding award certificates. The entire group was issued to and belonged to the same veteran, Petr Vasilyevich Golovnenko, making the set considerably more interesting than a random assortment of individual medals.
The set includes:
- Medal of Zhukov — commemorating the 100th anniversary of Marshal Georgy Zhukov's birth, with the dates 1896–1996.
- 20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1941–1945 — issued for the 20th anniversary of Victory in 1965.
- 30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1941–1945 — 1975.
- 40 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1941–1945 — 1985.
- 50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR — 1967/1968.
- 60 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR — 1978.
- 70 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR — 1988.
The three Victory anniversary medals commemorate the 20th, 30th and 40th anniversaries of the 1945 Victory, while the 50th, 60th and 70th anniversary medals commemorate major milestones of the Soviet Armed Forces.
An important detail for collectors is the provenance of the complete group. Each medal is accompanied by a certificate issued to the same person, Petr Vasilyevich Golovnenko. Keeping the medals together with their matching documentation provides a documented personal history and makes this a particularly appealing piece of Soviet military memorabilia and historical collecting.
The Medal of Zhukov should be distinguished from the Soviet medals in this group: it was established as a state award of the Russian Federation in the 1990s in connection with the centenary of Zhukov's birth, rather than being a Soviet-era award. The official description specifies the 1896–1996 dates and the brass construction seen on this type of medal.
The other six medals represent the Soviet-era commemorative tradition and span approximately 1965–1988, providing a compact chronological collection covering important anniversaries of Victory in World War II and the Soviet Armed Forces.
