Description
Offered is an original Royal Air Force Nomex flying suit,dated 1975, Size 7, with British military Stores Reference 22C/1300200.
Unlike most RAF flight suits on the market, this one hasknown provenance.
I obtained this suit personally during an official squadronexchange between the USAF 525th Tactical Fighter Squadron"Bulldogs" at Bitburg Air Base, West Germany, and No. 111Squadron ("Treble One") at RAF Leuchars, Scotland, circa 1975.
At the time, both squadrons were flying the McDonnellDouglas Phantom, making this a unique Cold War exchange between Americanand Royal Air Force Phantom crews.
The suit has remained in my personal collection forapproximately fifty years.

Historical Background
No. 111 Squadron was one of the Royal Air Force's premierair defense squadrons. During the mid-1970s the squadron operated the PhantomFGR.2 from RAF Leuchars, defending the northern approaches to the UnitedKingdom throughout the Cold War.
This suit represents an authentic piece of RAF Phantomhistory from that era.
Provenance
I was an F-4 Phantom jock with the 525th TacticalFighter Squadron ("Bulldogs") stationed at Bitburg Air Base,Germany. This flight suit was acquired directly from a member of No. 111Squadron during our squadron exchange visit to RAF Leuchars and has remained inmy possession ever since.
