New Listing Martin Van Buren National Historic Site Token:
$5.95

Martin Van Buren was the Eighth President of the United States, serving from 1837-1841. During his term he purchased an estate in upstate New York, 20 miles south of Albany, which he called Lindenwald. Van Buren lived here from when he left Office in 1841 until his death in 1862. He ran several unsuccessful campaigns for office from this site, under a progressively more and more Abolitionist platform.
This site has been preserved for it's historical significance and is managed by the National Park Service.
