Up for your consideration is a striking mixed-media sculpture titled “Hopi Maiden” by renowned Southwestern artist Mike Greenfield. The sculpture features a beautifully cast bronze bust of a Hopi woman wearing a multi-strand necklace and styled in traditional butterfly-whorl hair wraps. The bronze bust is seamlessly integrated into a gorgeous piece of natural multi-layered polychrome stone, displaying rich, vivid bands of earth-toned red and tan strata. It is mounted on a wooden base with anelegant brass nameplate inscribed with Hopi Maiden / M. Greenfield. This piece is in excellent pre-owned condition and measures approximately 10.75”H x 8.5”W x 4.5”D. The bronze has a beautiful, rich patina with no signs of wear or damage. The natural stone is solid and structurally stable, free of chips or fractures beyond its natural, raw texture. The wooden base shows minimal scuffing, and the white plaster used to adhere the bust to the stone is visible in some spots (see photos). There are adhesive vinyl strips on the bottom of the sculpture to protect tabletops and shelves from scratches (see last photo).
