1st Appearance of Sam Alexander / Nova
This issue introduces Sam Alexander, the teenager who would go on to become the next Nova. His story, “Harbinger,” was written by Jeph Loeb with art by Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines, Morry Hollowell and Albert Deschesne. Sam encounters the cosmic threat of the Phoenix Force and Terrax the Tamer, setting the stage for his future as Nova.
1st Appearance of Kaine as the Scarlet Spider
The issue also features Kaine\'s first appearance as the Scarlet Spider, following his transformation and redemption after the events surrounding Spider-Island. His story was written by Christopher Yost with art by Ryan Stegman. Kaine is beginning a new chapter in his life and takes on the Scarlet Spider identity.
Death of Terrax the Tamer
Terrax, former herald of Galactus, meets his apparent death during the destruction of the planet Birj as the Phoenix Force arrives.

Story
