a fantastic, highly collectible lot of 9 original World War II-era U.S. Navy Submarine Launching Tags. These historic tokens were issued as commemorative favors for guests and shipyard workers during the official launch ceremonies at the historic Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, between late 1944 and 1945.
Every tag in this lot features a detailed illustration of a submarine in the center, wrapped in its official ceremonial launch text. Crucially, all 9 tags still retain their original, authentic blue hanging string lanyards, which are frequently missing from these pieces.
