Beautiful, hard to find, matching pair of vintage Chinese famille rose porcelain table lamps with richly hand-painted polychrome floral and lotus decoration.
Each lamp features a classic ginger jar–inspired porcelain body decorated in vibrant shades of pink, red, turquoise, blue, green and yellow against a white ground. The intricate scrolling floral design continues around the bodies and coordinating upper sections, creating a particularly striking and decorative pair.
Both lamps are mounted on carved dark hardwood stands and retain brass-tone sockets, harps and decorative pierced finials. No shades.
Their substantial size, colorful decoration and true matching design make these wonderful statement lamps for a traditional, Grandmillennial, Chinoiserie or eclectic interior. They would be especially beautiful displayed as a pair on bedside tables, consoles or living room end tables.
CONDITION
Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The porcelain presents beautifully with no obvious chips or cracks visible. The wooden bases show minor surface wear consistent with age, and the metal hardware has expected patina, oxidation and discoloration.
The lamps retain their vintage electrical components. As with all vintage lighting, buyers may wish to have the wiring inspected by a qualified professional before prolonged use.
