Nice Large Antique Leather Padded Gem Size Tintype Photo Album, Half Full of Civil War - Victorian Tintypes
DESCRIPTION: This is a nice original Antebellum/Civil War period gem size tintype photo album. Used to hold tiny gem size tintype photos, a popular photo medium of the day.
THIS ONE IS COMPLETELY EMPTY, so will be perfect for your collection of CdVs and other Civil War period photos and tintypes!!!
This is a nice large sizealbum, containing12 pages, with room for 4 gem size carte de visite photos on each side of each page......for a total capacity of 96 CdeV's. This one is half full, containing 48 great tintypes in period dress, and room for an additional 48 more on the empty pages in the back. Some of the photos are individuals and some have 2 people in each. THESE WERE THE ORIGINAL OWNER'S PRIMARY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES, STILL ALLTOGETHER, JUST LIKE THEY WERE SO LONG AGO!!!
The album has aNICE SOFT REDDISH BROWN LEATHER EMBOSSED PATTERN ON THE FRONT & BACK, with gold trim and gold trimmed pages. The fancy original brass hinge is intact (Often missing).
This album is in very good condition overall.
