Russian Cave Bear Paw – Ursus spelaeus
An impressive, large articulated cave bear paw originating from Russia, featuring a substantial arrangement of original fossil bones and five prominent digits with claws. This is a striking display specimen that really conveys the massive size and powerful build of these extinct Ice Age bears.
Cave bears (Ursus spelaeus) roamed Eurasia during the Pleistocene and disappeared near the end of the last Ice Age. Complete or reconstructed articulated paw displays are especially eye-catching because they allow the individual bones of the foot to be viewed in their natural anatomical arrangement.
A fantastic centerpiece for an Ice Age, prehistoric mammal, cave bear, or natural-history collection, and an imposing fossil that displays extremely well due to its size and instantly recognizable form.
