Sadie Adams (1905–1995), also known by her Hopi name \"Flower Woman\" or \"Flower Girl,\" was a celebrated Hopi-Tewa potter from the Tewa village of Hano on First Mesa in the Hopi Pueblo reservation, Arizona. A member of the Kachina and Parrot Clans, she began creating pottery around 1930—coinciding with the birth of her daughter, Lorna Lomakema—and continued until 1981. Following her husband Wilbur\'s death in 1937, Adams single-handedly supported her family through pottery sales, even funding her daughter\'s nursing education.

Adams was admired for her versatility and technical skill, producing a wide array of functional and decorative pieces using traditional methods: coil-building from local clay, painting with bee-weed (black pigment) and native slips, and outdoor firing. Her work often featured intricate polychrome designs inspired by Hopi motifs, such as birds, thunderbirds, geometrics, and feathers, applied with fine-line precision. She signed her pieces with distinctive flower hallmarks—a five-petal peach blossom, sometimes dotted in the center or on each petal—symbolizing her name.
