This is a USA-made Gerber Gator Model 650 lockback. The tang stamps match the photos: GERBER 650 on one side of the ricasso and PORTLAND, OR USA on the other.
Model. Gerber 650 Gator, large folding hunter. Part of Gerber’s Gator series from the Portland, Oregon factory, roughly late 1980s through the 1990s. The 650 is the full-size lockback.
Blade. Plain-edge clip point, stainless (commonly 440A, about Rc 57–59 on standard production; some early runs are described as ATS-34). About 3.75 in long (3.25 inches of edge) roughly 1/8 in thick, stonewashed or satin. This is a plain edge, not the combo/serrated version. Open length is about 8.5 in.
Handle. Black Kraton rubber molded over a Zytel frame, with the textured “gator” grip and a finger choil. Closed length is about 4-7/8 to 5 in, which lines up with your 4 3/4 in figure. Weight is about 4.4 oz. Lock is a standard lockback. Amofferextrous, two-hand open.
Condition from the photos. Clean example. Blade is centered-looking, with light surface marks and a small spot or two, not heavy use or edge damage. Rubber scales look intact, with the texture still sharp and no obvious chunks missing. Lock pivot and backspring pin are present.
Market. Nice used plain-edge examples typically land about $30–50 without a sheath, and about $45–75 with the original Cordura sheath in very good shape.
