Excellent large specimen in which a thick Native Silver 'leaf' or plate (weighing probably ~10 troy ounces or so) is set aesthetically in dark green diabase matrix, from theKeeley-FrontierMine, South Lorrain Twp., Cobalt-Gowganda region, TimiskamingDistrict, Ontario, Canada. These have always been hard to get and sought after, and this fine large example is much better in person.
From the noted collection of the Joseph R. Daley Collection (1924-2022) of Destrehan, Louisiana. Mr. Daley specialized in smithsonite (and worldwide 'classics') and put together a fine collection of 19th to early 20th century minerals, many with old labels and great provenance. Rare!
