This utterly charming porcelain Dresden figurine produced in Germany by the R. & E. Pech company between 1930 and 1946 eschews the stereotypical fluffy \"Dresden lace\" ornamentation for a gravity-defying porcelain wrap that flutters in the air around the lovely and slender young woman at the center.
The figurine, which stands 5 1/2 inches tall, features a chestnut haired young woman in a dancing pose. Her outfit features a swirling, gathered long skirt of light green accented with bright flowers, and a half-length sleeved pink and gold bodice that shows off her deep decolletage and tiny waist. A stand-up collar lined in white frames her hair and face, and the sleeves also end in ruffles. Her wrap, or sash, elegantly swirls out from her delicate frame and hands, as though carried outward by the breeze caused by her turns on the dance floor.
The figurine is in very good condition, with no cracks or crazing other than the delicate crazing found on the glazed underside of the base. She is missing the thumb on one of those exceedingly delicate hands that sport fancy red fingernails, which can be seen in the photos above.
Quite the lovely young lady to add to your collection of romantic Dresden figurines!
