DETECTIVE COMICS #407 (DC 1971). Story by FRANK ROBBINS. Cover and story art by NEAL ADAMS. This book features the conclusion to the original MAN-BAT trilogy. The trilogy begins with #400 (with the origin of MAN-BAT), continues with #402 and concludes with #407--Batman curing Langstrom, turning him back into human form. The tale of the Man-Bat could have ended right there, but the character and theme proved wildly popular, leading to many follow-up story appearances. Unfortunately, the talents of Robbins and Adams are missing in most of them. VERY GOOD-FINE (5.0) condition.
This is a sound mid-grade copy of this magazine with rich color and lots of original gloss. The book presents much better than graded, but there is rust at the staples and a stain at the upper right of the back cover (see photos). The staples tightly bind the cover and all interior pages (centerfold photo provided). There are some dimples along the spine and some light chaffing at the edges in places.
Shipping is $6.00 to the United States. Shipping will be combined for multiple purchases.
