For your consideration is a nicestereoview titled "Mt. Washington Railway Trains". This is a great view of 2 trains stopped on the track. Note the smoke billowing from the engines.The image is best described in "Railway to the Moon" by Glen Kidder as follows:
"Two trains about to leave the base for a trip up the mountain. The train in the foreground consists of locomotive #2 "Geo. Stephenson" with the second "open" coach. The train in the background consists of locomotive #3 with the second "closed" coach. (probably 1870 or 1871).
This has a great 3D effect. The view was photographed and published by Kilburn Brothers, Littleton, N.H. (#682). There is a name and address written on the verso along with the words "From Fabyans". You will also find some small spots in the left image, corner wear, and overall soiling.
