SAN DIEGO CaliforniaPanama California Exposition100 Bucks"49 Camp""Hottest Place on Earth"Issued for the 1915 Panama‑California Exposition, this Forty Nine Camp 100 Bucks note captures the playful frontier branding used to draw visitors into the Exposition’s “49 Camp” attraction — advertised as “The Hottest Place on Earth.” Printed by W.P. Jeffries Co. of Los Angeles, the note guaranteed “frolic and fun” and goods in trade within the camp’s concessions. The obverse features the official Exposition seal with California allegory; the reverse shows the rustic 49 Camp building with its motto “A Good Time to All.” Surviving originals are desirable exposition souvenirs and display beautifully. This example shows strong color and crisp detail on both sides. A charming piece of early California fair history.Fun on the The Store is open!
