For your consideration is a high-quality "heavy glass" vase produced by the Beránek Glassworks (Beránek S.R.O.) in the 1990s. This piece is a sophisticated authorized reissue of Pattern #5961, originally designed by the celebrated Czech artist Vlasta Lichtagová circa 1959.
While the design is often attributed to the furnace’s founder, Emanuel Beránek, this specific "Amphora" form with tightly scrolled "snail" handles is a hallmark of Lichtagová’s neoclassical influence on Bohemian glass.
Visual & Physical Details

• Technique: Dense, controlled bollicine (bubbles) throughout the body, a master-level technical feat of the Škrdlovice artisans.
• Handles: Applied clear-to-gray scrolled "ram’s horn" handles, fused with precision.
• Base: Ground and polished pontil, confirming its hand-blown artisanal origin.
• Weight: Substantial and heavy at 2.2 lbs (1kg).
• Dimensions: 6.5” Height x ~5” Width.
Condition Report: Near Mint
This vase is in excellent vintage condition.
• Surfaces: No chips, cracks, or flea bites, even to the delicate handle scrolls.
• Internal Characteristics: Features original factory tooling marks (internal striations/draw marks) near the neck. These are not scratches, but "birthmarks" from the glassblower's jacks and shears, proving the traditional hand-manipulated process used by Beránek S.R.O. in the 1990s.
