Beautiful Vintage Handmade Japanese Hagoita New Years Paddle - Brocade Geisha for sale

A beautiful Japanese handmade Hagoita New Year\'s paddle from the 1970\'s, depicting a 3D image of a Geisha girl holding a drum. The Geisha has a face painted on fabric and the balance is silk brocade and elaborate embellishment creating a plush figure. The face of the paddle is all covered in fabric and the reverse side of the paddle is beautifully painted in a floral scene. The handle is wrapped in a velvet like fabric and there is some minor wear to the fabric cover.
The paddle measures approximately 20 1/2\" long and 7 1/2\" across at the widest.
The condition is excellent. It appears that the paddle was only lightly used for display and then stored safely away. There is a small silver beads missing from the center of one flower the headdress and there is no box, which has been taken into consideration in the pricing of the paddle.
