This is a large, 8.8 gram, polished and cabochon shaped piece of beautiful purple violet Burmese (Burmite) amber from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs were on the Earth. This specimen has mineral deposits as inclusions. Some of the minerals resemble a plant in appearance.
The purple color can be observed when sunlight is shining on rather than through this piece and is due to natural fluorescence. The first four and the last three pictures were taken in natural sunlight.
The piece itself weighs 8.8 grams with approximate dimensions of 4.3 cmlength by2.8 cm width and 0.8 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.
Please see my response. I have been selling amber fossils for over 15 years on anddo not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sourcesnot glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions. This piece is genuine amber formed over millions of years of polymerization.
Burmese (Burmite) amber has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaursand is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).
Pleasesee my other resin fossils including Dominican amber with inclusions, largeColombian copal with inclusions, and rare Indonesian ambers (some oflovely blue and green color).

I cannot guarantee delivery of your item in a set amount of time. Different country's customs offices take longer to process items than others do.
Lastly, I do not mark merchandise values below their true value or mark items as "gifts." U.S. and International government regulations prohibit such behavior. Honesty is the best option.
I only sell genuine, all-natural, non-heat treated, reconstituted, or color enhanced amber. This piece could be used as a specimen or in a piece of jewelry. Thank you for your consideration. This amber will ship worldwide. I will combine items to save on shipping for up to a 7 day period and usually ship within a 24 hour period.
Please note that the saltwatertest to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwater testclaims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.
However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant)composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense thansaltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response should helpdemonstrate this.
