This substantial artifact showcases exceptional ancient craftsmanship, featuring a smooth, pecked, and ground finish with a highly defined groove used for handle hafting. The stone itself exhibits a wonderful mottled tan, brown, and dark gray speckled patina.

Providence and History:
This piece has been carefully held in a private collection for over 35 years. It was personally acquired from a single-owner estate sale who a homeowner had sold his farm in Southern Illinois and moved to Florida. Based on the estate contents, it is strongly believed to have been a personal farm find from that Southern Illinois region.
