Antique Mantel Clocks c.a 1864Samuel MartiSwiss / French watch manufacturerSamuel Marti was born on 20 September 1811 in Langenthal, Canton of Bern in Switzerland. He was the son of Jean Marti and Barbe Neukom. In 1830 he moved to Montbéliard in France In 1849, his company won a bronze medal at the exhibition in Paris. In 1832, together with two other business partners, Messrs. Boilloux and Moser, he founded a factory for the production of pendule movements and blancs roulants.
