Stunning Antique Victorian Cigar Band Decoupage Glass Jar with Lid
Exceptional Turn-of-the-Century American Folk Art – Highly Desirable Hollow-Lined ConstructionUp for sale/sale is a phenomenal, museum-quality example of an authentic turn-of-the-centuryVictorian Cigar Band Jarcomplete with its matching decoupaged lid. Dating from the late1890s to the 1910s, this piece represents a highly celebrated era of American folk art and tobacco advertising history.Unlike many specimens from this era that were quickly filled with plaster or wax (which often ruins, cracks, or stains the paper over time), this specimen was meticulously crafted using thepremium hollow-lining method. The bands were intricately layered face-down against the interior glass like paper-mâché, leaving the interior entirely hollow and functional. As a result, this jar has survived a century completely free of the internal moisture rot or cracking common to plaster-filled jars.Fascinating Historical Brands & Imagery Featured:The jar features an incredibly dense, overlapping collage of beautifully preserved, gold-embossed lithograph cigar bands from the pre-Depression era. Highly recognizable brands and historical figures visible across the facets and lid include:

• Historic & Cultural Figures:Daniel Webster, Lord Kelvin (William Thomson), Carl Linnaeus (Linne), Thomas Moore (Tom Moore), Charlemagne (Charles the Great), and Italian opera singer Giovanni Battista Rubini.
• Iconic Americana & Tobacco Brands:Muriel (with classic veiled portrait), La Palina (historic brand founded by Sam Paley), Corina Habana, Jose Vila Brothers (Tampa, FL), Kamak (with full Native American chief headdress portrait), Don Antonio, Ursus, Buffaloes, The Dawn, Mundoro, Le Panto, and La Flor de Algeo.
• Large Pictorial Lithograph Cutouts:Features massive, vibrant inner cigar-box lid art vignettes, including a pastoral turn-of-the-century countryside farm cottage with feeding chickens, a medieval knight on an armored horse, blooming purple anemones in a basket, a large pink dahlia, and a holiday horseshoe paired with poinsettias on the bottom base.

Condition Notes:

• Glass:Excellent structural condition with no major chips, cracks, or deep gouges.
• Bands/Color:Exceptional preservation. Colors remain bright and many bands retain their bright, reflective Victorian gold-leaf accents.
• Interior:Completely clean and dry hollow interior. Minor natural age-toning to the backing paper inside the lid as expected for a genuine antique over 100 years old.

Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to appreciate the incredible density, artistry, and condition of this rare tobacco time capsule. It makes an elite display piece for any advanced collector of tobacciana, early American advertising, or Victorian parlor folk art.Shipping & Handling:
