Authentic antique Victorian multi-layered paper lace Valentine token, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. This stunning piece of ephemera comes beautifully preserved in a vintage dark wood frame with a gold inner accent. The intricate 3D mechanical pop-up style artwork features a central chromolithograph scrap portrait of a young girl, a flying cherub holding a message banner, and a rich bouquet of blue pansies symbolizing remembrance. Accented with delicate silver and gold embossed Dresden foil trims and a die-cut lace border, the piece is mounted over a soft blue and pink backing paper. Housed under glass with a fully sealed cardboard backing and wire hanger installed, this piece is ready for display.
