These 5 documents are the first in a series of documents we found on our last trip to France. They are all from a coaching outfit, mostly contracts to hire a couch and horses, driver to transport goods and some people. All are dated and signed, dates from 1755 to 1758. The letters are from both the coaching outfit and the clients and some have very interesting watermarks. These are all watermarked, with three interesting ones and two just with a name. These documents are all on laid paper (notice the lines on the photo with back lighting. The watermark was achieved by making a wire outline on the rack where the paper pulp was laid. There is an interesting article on this in Harvard Art Museums website.Measurements: these are all folded papers, the largest is 13 1/2\" by 8 1/2\" unfolded.
