Antique 19th Century No. 9 Cast Iron 12-Cup "Golf Ball" Gem Baking Pan

Up for sale is a beautiful antique 19th-century cast iron "golf ball" style gem baking pan. This open-frame 12-cup pan layout stems from the iconic mid-to-late 1800s Nathaniel Waterman patent designs, which were later famously produced and popularized by foundries like Griswold. It features 12 hemispherical, rounded cups arranged in a 3x4 grid pattern, flanked by dual open-curved handles.

A prominent, raised number "9" mold mark is clearly visible on the underside handle junction. While this pan is technically unmarked by a foundry name—making it an excellent example of an early Waterman pattern copy—the casting style, handle shape, and raised number placement match the early late-1800s variations produced during this era. This style of pan makes incredible bite-sized cornbread, muffins, dropped biscuits, or individual desserts.
