Description
An extremely rare antique Japanese kitchen knife made of 13-chrome stainless steel, originally released in Japan in 1922—just 8 years after stainless steel was discovered in England.
This knife is over 100 years old. Its steel name, \"Tougouko,\" was named after Heihachi Togo, the legendary Commander-in-Chief of the Japanese Navy known as the \"Nelson of the East.\"
Because the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 destroyed much of Tokyo where the manufacturer was based, very few surviving examples exist today, making it a highly valuable piece for collectors.
