This precious young boy's photo was taken in the early 1900's in Chicago by the famous Columbia Portrait Co. This company was established in 1888. This photo is on metal and has a sepia or a golden brown finish. The decorative brass round frame is very tarnished which cannot be cleaned. Luckily, the front of the frame is in good condition considering its age. It measures a little over 6" in diameter and is about 1/4" thick. The frame has a usable hanger. The actual photo does not have any damage. The celluloid may have some aging, but not noticeable. This cutie is sitting on a wicker chair. I'm guessing he was from a wealthy family because of his clothing and the fact that he had his portrait taken from this new company. It wasn't inexpensive to have this done. The backstamp is barely legible, but reads "Columbia Portrait Co. Chicago".
