A glorious Art Deco pendant lampshade from the 1920s–1930s, made of relatively thick, translucent white opaline glass coated in a pearlescent warm ivory to suggest custard glass. It has four panels, each hand-painted with a tropical beach scene of ocean waves framed by green and blue tropical foliage, against a glowing orange sunset and rising luminescent full moon.
The painted panels are framed by narrow panels with a botanical design in molded relief.
It's10" tall, 8" wide, weighs 3 lbs 7 oz, with3⅞ inch fitter. It should becompatible with standard shade holders with three thumbscrewsand 4" fitter.
In excellent antique condition. I've observed no glass damage or marring of the coating. The painted panels have minor paint loss that's largely only noticeable from very close; the panels display as intact. Please refer to the photographs, which show every face of the shade. Photographs are part of the description.
This listing is for the glass shade only. The two staged photographs illustrate how the shade may appear when suspended and illuminated. Please see the actual photographs for its original appearance and condition.
