Up for sale is a beautiful, heavy antique ironstone wash basin manufactured by the renowned Greenwood Pottery Company of Trenton, New Jersey. This large master 15\" size is a classic piece that features their distinctive \"IOWA\" ribbon banner mark on the bottom.
Estimated Age: Circa 1890–1910. The Greenwood Pottery Company operated from 1868–1933; this classic \"IOWA\" ribbon banner mark indicates the specific shape line from their peak turn-of-the-century production era, making this piece over 100 years old.
Measurements: 15 inches in diameter, inside depth is about 5\", measuring from outside, it is 6\" tall.
Weight: Solid and sturdy, weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
Condition: Beautiful antique character. It shows authentic, all-over glaze crazing with some light, desirable tea-staining that highlights its age. There is a stable hairline as is typical for utilitarian ironstone of this era, but it retains excellent structural integrity and rings nicely when tapped. A longish scratch in finish (that one isn\'t a hairline). A couple dull brownish chips but one is on bottom and the other on side. I\'ve tried to show all defects. Sold \"as is\".
A fantastic, authentic statement piece for a farmhouse display, primitive decor, or an addition to an antique ironstone collection.
Ships securely packed to ensure safe arrival.
