This historic document is dated November 16, 1840 and insures property valued at $920. The policy contains extensive handwritten entries detailing the insured buildings and property, including a dwelling house, barns, sheds, hay, grain, and other structures.
Features an attractive engraved vignette on the front and includes the printed Act of Incorporation and company bylaws on the reverse. Signed by company officers and completed in period ink.
A wonderful piece of early New Hampshire insurance history with strong appeal to collectors of Americana, insurance documents, genealogy, local history, and nineteenth-century ephemera.
Condition is consistent with age, including fold lines, handling wear, and light toning. Please review photographs carefully for overall condition.
