This item does work. It cranks smoothly and the music plays nicely with proper tempo, but does sound a bit out of tune. The START / STOP lever is not working.
It\'s in pretty good shape for it\'s age. Glass is not cracked or scratched. Wood box is still solid. Lid opens, closes and latches properly with tight hinges. There is light surface wear throughout. Please do view all of the photos and watch the video of this item in action. Does not include the key.
Dates to the late 1800\'s. I\'m sure there a maker\'s mark somewhere on the mechanism, but I couldn\'t find it.
