For sale is an original letter signed by the famous Luxembourgish American photographer Edward Steichen (1879 - 1973)
The letter is typed on Steichen letterhead and is dated May 9th. 1969, just 4 years before he died.
It is addressed to a Mrs. Jacqueline Campbell on East 46th St in NYC. We are unsure of who she is in relation to Steichen.
Included is an image of Steichen's famous photograph Self Portrait With Sister 1900 which was originally taken in 1900 it is considered a masterpiece of early modern photography. We believe it just to be a print and not an original photograph. But we have not taken it out of the gallery framing
Condition: Overall good. Crease marks from original mailing.

Edward Jean Steichen (Luxembourgish) March 27, 1879 – March 25, 1973)
Steichen was a Luxembourgish American photographer, painter and curator and a pioneer of fashion photography. His gown images for the magazine Art et Décoration in 1911 were the first modern fashion photographs to be published. From 1923 to 1938, Steichen served as chief photographer for the Condé Nast magazines Vogue and Vanity Fair, while also working for many advertising agencies, including J. Walter Thompson. During these years, Steichen was regarded as the most popular and highest-paid photographer in the world.
