The lodge’s long roofline, shaded porch, and stone chimney stand out against forested slopes, with rugged mountain ridges stretching across the distance beneath a blue sky dotted with white clouds. The elevated perspective captures the building and its hillside surroundings, conveying the appeal of a secluded mountain retreat. The reverse describes the lodge’s setting and views of Grand and Shadow Mountain Lakes and the upper Colorado River. A welcoming scene for collectors of Colorado resort history, mountain lodges, Rocky Mountain scenery, and vintage travel postcards.
