The following is from Find-A-Grave: "Townsend Scudder (1828-1874)Son of Henry Scudder & Elizabeth Hewlett; husband of Sarah Maria Frost, who he married 13 December 1859 at New York City; born at Northport, Suffolk County, L. I. & died at Glenwood, Queens {now Nassau County}, L. I.; he was the father of the Townsend Scudder [1865-1960], U. S. Congressman from New York, noted jurist, and who along w/ Robert Moses was a developer of Jones Beach State Park and the Long Island State Parkways.". Paper has some slight soiling.
