Fantastic lot of 5 WWII Era late 1940's military adjacent souvenirs. Vintage original mid-century/ retro Hawaiian travel waterslide decals these are true vintage souvenirs published by Driscoll in Honolulu during the golden age of post-WWII tourism. This cohesive set features quintessential mid-century Hawaiian artwork. Including large round "Surf Riders at Waikiki" surfing decal, Classic Aloha Hawaii Hula dancer decal, Wonderful Hawaii ukulele player decal, Aloha Hawaii outrigger canoe scene decal, and light blue Aloha Hawaii Kingdom Coat of Arms decal.
Colors are exceptional, incredibility vibrant and the signature Driscoll orange and yellow pigments remain bright with zero fading.These decals have been stored away for decades from original owner. Please note that they have been folded and they show natural age-related curling/ rolling to the backing paper. These decals are unapplied with original backing intact.
These decals are directly from the estate of the original owner who was a servicemember stationed in Hawaii during the 1940s. They have been in storage for all these years.
Because these are vintage 60+ year old decals with folds they are being sold as archival collector's items/ display pieces. No guarantee can be made on how they will perform if water is applied today. Please review all pictures carefully to inspect folds and curls before purchase.
These will be handled with care and placed in protective sleeve and shipped in between hard cardboard and wrapped in a poly bag for moisture protection
