This is a magnificent pair of hand-carved Chinese hardwood stands for displaying fine porcelain or carved objects. They have an unusual, spiked lotus design which is difficult to carve and hard to find. They measure 6.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall and will hold an object up to 4.5 inches wide at the base. They are in very good condition for their age - the rich red stain has faded a little over the decades and one of the stands has a small but stable crack on one side (see photo).
