1970-1980\'s VINTAGE LARGE SIZE DUAL VISOR PILOT FLIGHT HELMET
For sale is a vintage (1970\'s) dual visor Gentex aircraft pilot helmet with an original carry bag equipped with a zippered seam closure.
This particular helmet was used by a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) mission pilot during the 1970-1980\'s period when CAP operated U6 Beaver, O1 (L19) Bird Dog, and T-34 Mentor aircraft (see image) in airborne search and rescue operations. The helmet was purchased directly from Gentex.
The helmet shell itself is in great condition and the tinted and clear visors are in pristine condition. However, given its age, the interior linings (foam pads) are worn or missing but can be replaced today from Gentex style helmet refurbishing organizations. The Civil Air Patrol emblem on the rear of the helmet is a removable adhesive decal. And the name tag sewn on the helmet bag can be easily removed if desired.
