1960s SIGNED Amado Maurilio Peña Jr Art Tile Southwest Pueblo Native Scene 8x10
Vintage 8x10 ceramic art tile by Southwestern artist Amado Maurilio Peña Jr. Features a family scene with his iconic bold linework, rich Pueblo-inspired tones, and intricate geometric background pattern.The piece is signed twice, one signature is in the bottom left corner in sharpie, and the other is and painted on the lower right corner.
The previous owner added a protective backing equipped with both a tabletop easel stand and a sawtooth wall hanger, making it ready to display on a shelf or a wall.

About the artist:Amado Maurilio Peña Jr. is an American visual artist and art educator born in Laredo, Texas in 1943. He is of Mexican and Yaqui (Pascua Yaqui) ancestry, and his work reflects the cultural heritage and landscapes of the American Southwest. Peña’s bold, expressive pieces celebrate Native American life, mestizo identity, and the enduring spirit of the region. He has taught art in Texas and exhibited widely, and his work is included in major collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
