1940 Superman #24 ATTACKED BY SHARKS- PSA 7 - ONLY 3 HIGHER
A desirable high‑grade example from the iconic 1940 Gum Inc. Superman set. Card #24, Attacked by Sharks, is one of the most intense and memorable action scenes in the entire run, capturing the raw Golden Age energy that has made this set a cornerstone of early superhero collecting. This PSA 7 is a legitimately premium copy with strong color, clean presentation, and excellent overall eye appeal — and with only 3 graded higher, it sits in truly scarce territory for high‑number, high‑grade Superman cards.
Mid‑run Superman cards have become increasingly competitive in upper grade, with collectors targeting examples that combine condition, dramatic artwork, and strong visual balance. PSA 8s for this card are almost certainly locked away in long‑term registry builds, and with so few premium copies surfacing, this PSA 7 represents exactly the kind of condition scarcity advanced collectors chase when they want meaningful registry positioning without waiting years for a higher‑grade example to appear.
As demand for the 1940 Gum Inc. set continues to surge, cards with extremely limited high‑grade populations and standout Golden Age illustrations have shown exceptional long‑term strength. The combination of scarcity, condition, and one of the set’s most striking danger‑driven action scenes gives this PSA 7 real upside, making it an outstanding addition for any high‑grade run or a collector building toward a top‑tier registry set.
