DESCRIPTION:
Original December 31, 1913 Sharples Separator Company correspondence from West Chester, Pennsylvania, sent to W. B. Willim of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
The letter is especially attractive for its large, highly detailed illustrated company letterhead showing The Sharples Separator Co. factory complex, railroad cars, smokestacks, and separator machinery. The company lists its home offices and factory at West Chester, with branch offices in Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, Winnipeg, Portland, San Francisco and Calgary.
The Credit Department letter asks Willim to sign and return the enclosed $65.00 note due May 12, 1914, warning that the account would be sent to an attorney for collection if they did not hear from him by January 12.
Included are the original illustrated letter, the Sharples Separator Company $65 promissory-note form, and the original postmarked envelope addressed to W. B. Willim in Vanceburg, Kentucky. Envelope is postmarked West Chester, PA, Dec. 31, 1913.
Condition shows age and handling wear. Letter has original folds. Envelope has considerable edge wear, tears and losses, particularly along the right side and corners. Please use photos for exact condition.
A strong early industrial, dairy-equipment and West Chester PA business-history piece, with the elaborate factory illustration giving it considerably more visual appeal than a standard commercial letter.
